Squad Up For Rush Girls Sorority!

By: Giancarlo Santos, U19 Rush MLS Next

We are more than happy to announce that THE Florida Rush will be instating a Sorority program at the club in order to unite all the academy teams, mentoring the girls into becoming great players and more so mature human beings. This program will for sure create great memories that’ll continue to last for a long time due to the amazing young women and girls at the club that will be involved. The sorority will require the older players from the ages of U13-U19 to take the U9-U12 players under their wings in a Big Sister/Little Sister type relationship. This will take place anywhere whether it’s through on field situations or even in off field occurrences such as through FaceTime, zoom, etc. The relationships will tend to occur mostly at practices when we bring together the Big and little sisters or most often at games that the sisters will be attending for each other. And lastly but certainly not least the club will showcase a different team each weekend for both the boys and the girls for their families and players to support as a spotlight game. GO RUSH!

Now some words from our very own Coach Alex Burrell:

“I’m very excited to share the addition of the “Sorority Program” to Florida Rush. This mentorship program will unite athletes of all ages throughout our Girls Academy program.

Our culture is starting to change. Building positive relationships across all age groups, and increasing the opportunities for enjoyment, will unite our Girls Academy program.

Our goal is for this program to help develop all female players involved, both on- and off-the-field. Through emotional support, personal accountability, and responsibility, the Girls in our Academy program will feel a sense of pride when representing the club and the Girls Academy family that they belong to. I ask all parents to jump on board and enjoy this journey with them.

GO Rush!”
