Alex Burrell Bolsters Full-Time Staff as Girls Director

Florida Rush is proud to announce the addition of Alex Burrell as Girls Director.

Returning for his eighth season at Rush in 2021-22, Alex will also serve as Head Coach in the Girls ECNL-R program. He currently coaches the 2010, 2011, and 2012 teams.

“Our entire staff at Florida Rush is excited to have Alex join us full time,” said Richie Gray, Florida Rush Executive Director. “He’s highly self-motivated, an excellent coach and has remarkable people skills. He will be a great addition to our team and I’m confident that our girls program is in good hands.”

Alex (some of us call him “AB”) had this to say, as well:

“I am thrilled to come on board as Director on the Girls side. I want to bring positive energy to our Academy. I believe our program can be one of the best in the nation. Our teams will play the Rush way, they will play attractive soccer. I’m a firm believer of a journey, and a pathway to development success. It takes a team effort to succeed. I want our girls to achieve their goals and dreams, to be determined to play at the next level in college, and national exposure.”

In addition to his time with us, Alex is part of the Goalkeeping staff at the Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy (SIMA) and was previously with Rollins College.

About ECNL Regional League

After a small but tremendously successful pilot program during the 2018-2019 season, the ECNL Girls Regional League platform expanded to include 6 leagues in the 2019-20 season which was suspended due to COVID-19.

The 2020-2021 season will feature 12 leagues, 4 of which are licensed leagues participating in regional competition.  Each ECNL Girls Regional League is structured slightly differently, reflecting the unique needs and desires of the participating clubs, geography, and more.

ECNL Girls Regional Leagues are operated and managed by the ECNL Girls to insure a consistent environment and level of professionalism across all leagues. Each league allows improved coordination and collaboration between teams of different levels within ECNL clubs, or opportunity for teams and players in other clubs to develop through regular high level competition.
